Bifuran possesses bacteriostatic, bacteriocidal. and antimicrobial properties useful for treating and controlling bacterial, and sporozoan diseases of freshwater and marine aquarium fish.

It is indicated for the control of Aeromonas spp., Vibria spp., and other bacterial pathogens, and when administered orally will have an inhibitory effect on spore formation of sporozoan, Myxosoma.

Bifuran is particularly useful for control of minor topical skin infections of aquarium fish.
